11.25.2005 12:05 AK

Cat Computer Services Pvt. Ltd, a computer security company of Pune, releases the new version of its flagship anti-virus product Quick Heal that provides essential protection from viruses and other potential Riskwares. Quick Heal 2006 is designed based on the new advanced scan engine, which is developed over a platform independent technology. This new version is also coming with a new User Interface that seamlessly integrates various modules to make it more easy to use.

The main attraction of 2006 release is Cat is introducing DNAScan Technology with the release of this version. DNAScan technology is something that is being indigenously developed and first of its kind in AntiVirus history. DNAScan technology is designed to tackle the ever increasing virus and spyware menace that works without the signature updates and takes care of these frequent outbreaks before the signature updates is available. The company is developing this technology since last one year and is been put to beta test since last four months at various beta sites. The test has proved to be more positive with more than 80 percent of the new spywares, Trojans, bots, backdoors and worms were detected positively before the signature updates were released. DNAScan works on the technique of deep code inspection with code analysis and characteristics classification that traces to the genes of the malware and its malicious intentions. On positive identification of such malware it quarantines the suspicious files and also cleans the changes it has done to the systems registry.

As broadband internet connections are becoming more common, computer users are being exposed to latest threats that enter their PC through Internet. Today spyware, adware and dangerous bots are clogging most of the on-line PCs. Even thought one may have a up to date AntiVirus software installed still the PC is getting infected by the newer Trojans and bots whose detection is not yet added to the updates. Quick Heal 2006‘s DNAScan technology is designed to tackle this problem as it identifies these new threats before the signature update is available. All this is done automatically without requiring user intervention. Once a potential Riskware program is identified, Quick Heal’s DNAScan applies sophisticated new removal and repair technology to ensure that the malware and other malicious code are automatically and safely removed, returning the system to a clean state. The malware is quarantined and user is also given option to send the sample to the Cat’s research lab for further analysis.
